All industrial warehouses will have a wearing slab. The thickness of the slab will depend on many factors; such as the foundations, reinforcement, required load bearing capacity etc.
This slab will contain reinforcement to give it tensile stress resistance. It can be formed into panels to better accommodate shrinkage and thermal movement and the panels will normally be attached by joints to allow for load transfer.
In thermally insulated floors, the wearing slab will be on top of an insulation layer and, if included, a base slab and heater mat screed.
