Technical Information

The main dead loads to consider in the design of a concrete slab are the self weight of the slab, the weight of any screeds and any permanent building loads such as columns if applicable.

Because they are more predictable the safety factors applied to dead loads are smaller compared to those used for live and dynamic loads.
