A load which acts uniformly over a length in one direction is a line load. Walls are an example of this where the thickness of the wall in comparison to its length is such that it can be modelled as a single line.
In pile supported slabs the racking leg loads are often represented as a line load, the close proximity of the racking legs in one direction compared to the width of the bay is often a more severe case in suspended slabs than the single point loads.
This type of loading is represented in kN/m (N/mm)
