Corner Finishing

Summary

Corner Finishing - It is usually necessary to finish the corners of a concrete slab by hand due to the difficulty of reaching them with mechanical finishing equipment.

Technical Information

Because power trowels cannot reach the corners of the slab they’re finishing due to their circular shape, it is necessary to use smaller tools in these areas; a handheld trowel or a bull float, for example.

In most cases, hand trowelling of edges and around columns should be carried out before power floating, this ensures there are no large high spots (power trowels won’t remove high spots).
