When floors are likely to come into contact with fluids on a regular basis, it is sometimes necessary to install a drainage system.
A drainage system will only work if the floors are slightly sloped towards the outlet for the fluids. To achieve sloped surface, the fresh concrete needs to be stopped from flowing to level itself out.
Therefore, a much stiffer concrete mix is required.
This can be achieved by decreasing the water / cement ratio, which also increases its impermeability.
The gradient of a fall varies depending on the exact needs of the end user.
