Soil Investigation - Before a new slab is constructed it is vital that the ground below is assessed. It will directly affect the bearing capacity and the serviceability of a slab.

Soil Investigation in Progress

Any soil investigation must be carried out by an appropriately qualified Geotechnical Engineer. The investigations must be in accordance with Eurocode 7 (EN 1997-1).

The results from the investigation should include guidance on further ground works required to support either a ground supported slab or a pile supported slab.
