Expansive Cement - is cement which expands on hydration.

Technical Information

There are two types of expansive cement, which expand at different magnitudes:

  • When the magnitude of expansion is small, the cement is known as ‘shrinkage compensating’
  • When the magnitude of expansion is large, the cement is known as ‘self stressing’ and can be used for the production of chemically pre-stressed concrete elements.
